Dear FAS Community,  ‌

‌As we close out 2025, I want to share how grateful I am for everything you’ve done this year to support UCSF and one another. 

‌Last week, we gathered for our annual FAS All Staff Town Hall. The theme was FAS 411—a rapid-fire look at the nine departments that make up our organization. The energy was fantastic, and one of my favorite parts was the contributions in the chat. Seeing so many of you proudly share which department you belong to—and what you love about your work—was genuinely moving. Over and over, the same words appeared: “people,” “my team,” “teammates,” “coworkers.” 

‌It was a powerful reminder that what makes FAS special is the people who make that work possible. I couldn’t agree more, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this community. ‌

‌I encourage you to take a moment to reflect, and to show appreciation to someone you work with. A quick note, a smile, or a UCSF Recognize submission can create a ripple of kindness.

I hope you enjoy a restorative and well-deserved holiday break.
