November FAS Managers’ Town Hall

FAS leaders convene three times per year to learn about an important aspect of the UCSF health mission and to review current topics relevant to FAS. Please follow this link for the November 6th Town Hall presentation. Highlights include:

  • Education Mission:  Have you ever wondered how many students we have at  UCSF? Or how long it takes to get a PhD? Or what careers our trainees pursue after UCSF? Dr. Elizabeth Watkins, Dean of the Graduate Division and Vice Chancellor Student Academic Affairs, de-mystified the learning process of students and trainees at UCSF.
  • A Peek into the world of our Senior Vice Chancellor: Teresa Costantinidis shared what she has seen and learned over the past 120 days in her role as Interim Senior Vice Chancellor. Two points she made are: 1) FAS contributes significantly to the UCSF mission by providing a workplace that fosters innovation and collaboration, and 2) Our people share a common drive to make UCSF a better place.
  • Lean Program Update: Mara Fellouris and Paul Sullivan from the Program Management Office provided an update on how the FAS Lean Program is contributing to the continuous improvement of important processes. Areas targeted for this year include: Contracts, Recruitment and Selection, Custodial Services, Retail Services, Asset Management, Desktop Deployment and Labor and Employee Relations.
