I want your voice to be heard: 2018 Staff Engagement Survey

Dear Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) Community:

Last week Chancellor Hawgood announced the 2018 UCSF Staff Engagement Survey, and I am writing to encourage each of you to participate. The confidential survey begins April 24 and will be open through May 15.

Your participation is important to me personally, because I value candor and realize that not everyone feels they have an opportunity to be heard at work. I also care about you and your success. Our FAS True North states our vision of creating an environment where people can do their best. We cannot achieve that unless we understand how you feel about working here so we can continue to make progress on what is most important to you.

Your responses are the building blocks of a great workplace. In addition to the campus-wide efforts Chancellor Hawgood referenced in his email, I’m proud of the work you did within your departments to take action on the feedback we heard from you from last year’s survey. FAS has more than 190 action plans, which include goals for improvement based on what is most important to you. See the right hand side bar to view some important efforts happening within FAS, all thanks to your input.

As you can see from the action plans and progress across FAS, your ten minute investment of time makes a true impact. Thank you in advance for your thoughtful participation and the work you do every day to support the caring, healing, teaching and discovering mission of UCSF.

Sincerely,

Paul Jenny
Senior Vice Chancellor
Finance and Administration

Ten Minutes, 12 Questions: What to Expect

The survey is the opportunity for each of you to tell us what is working and what still needs to be addressed. Engagement is measured by your responses to the 12 Gallup survey questionsFAS participation has been strong, but we know we can do better. We are striving for 100% participation to ensure that all your voices are heard. Gallup will hold your responses in confidence so I encourage you to share your candid feedback. Feedback will be reported anonymously without reference to anyone’s identity.

On Tuesday, April 24, Gallup will send you an email invitation to participate in the survey via a secure internet connection; it should take less than 10 minutes to complete. Gallup will send you reminder messages until you complete the survey, but this will not compromise the confidentiality of your responses. If you have any questions, please contact your local Staff Engagement Ambassador as listed by department (see right).
