UCSF Financial and Administrative Services (FAS)
Organizational Update

December 6, 2022

Dear Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) Community,

After careful deliberation, I have made the decision to realign the programs within the current Campus Life Services’ Wellness and Community unit to take advantage of synergies with other areas in FAS. Wellness will move to HR People Wellness, and the community events component will move to an expanded portfolio with CLS’ Retail and Conference and Events Services units.

The goal of this change is to strengthen the impact to UCSF by combining like services to:

  • Unify and focus strategies.
  • Maximize synergies to make the most effective use of existing resources.
  • Simplify outreach and service access for our UCSF community.

I am also pleased to announce that Associate Vice Chancellor/UCSF Health Senior Vice President Human Resources Corey Jackson will become the Co-Executive Sponsor of the enterprise-wide Wellbeing Committee with the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost. This collaboration will provide senior leadership representation of faculty, staff and students across the Campus and Health entities.

Effective February 1, 2023, the current CLS Wellness and Community unit will separate programs and move to two different areas within FAS:

  • Wellness programs, with teammates Kathleen Yumul and Sebastiani Romagnolo, will move to HR People Wellness reporting on an interim basis to Vice President/Assistant Vice Chancellor People Wellness Stephanie Collins. The initial focus will be to develop a singular enterprise-wide strategy that makes Wellness integral to the experience of all members of the UCSF community.
  • Community events, with teammate Jamie DeAraujo, will move into an expanded portfolio of service lines led by Associate Director Retail of Conference and Events Service Jennifer Dowd-Kim. This new unit will be strengthened by the expertise and relationships of Jen’s team with a focus on delivering programs and events that engage the community.

All three members of the Wellness and Community team are valued colleagues and will continue to fulfill their roles while helping establish the next generation of programs. UCSF-wide collaborations will continue to provide a holistic view of resources to support emotional, physical, social, financial, environmental, career, and spiritual wellbeing.

Teammates from Campus Life Services, Human Resources and Finance Service Center will work on details over the next few months to ensure a seamless transition. MyWellness.ucsf.edu will remain the wellness resource hub on the CLS website during the transition.

Please continue to support our colleagues who are most impacted by this change. All of us in FAS are committed to their ongoing success and the collective delivery of programs and events that promote a culture of wellbeing and community engagement at UCSF.
