Dear Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) Community,

Today I’m excited to kick off FAS Shines, a new quarterly program to shine a spotlight on staff recognition.

Recognition is for everyone – for managers, for peers and for you! In launching FAS Shines, I hope people will feel inspired to recognize others and be uplifted from the recognition they receive.

We care about staff recognition because it makes us feel valued. When we get recognition right, employees are four times as likely to be engaged, five times more likely to see a path to growth and five times as likely to feel connected to their culture.

Q1 FAS Shines: Manager/Supervisor Workbook and Recognition Badge Bingo

‌In our first quarter, FAS will focus on supporting managers and supervisors and promoting the recognize.ucsf.edu staff recognition platform.

  • View the Manager/Supervisor Workbook, a guide for leaders to find out what recognition and rewards are available to staff, plus tools to track staff recognition and learn who is under-recognized.
  • All FAS staff are invited to play Recognition Badge Bingo for many chances to win prizes just for recognizing your peers (due Friday October 11, 2024).

T‌hank you to the FAS Shines workgroup for creating this campaign to help us move the needle on staff engagement.

And thank you for helping us shine!
