Dear Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) Community,

I am writing to share the full results from our 2024 Staff Engagement Survey and share what we know about action planning for FY25.

STAFF ENGAGEMENT RESULTS FINAL REPORT

‌As I shared in my June preliminary update, I am proud that FAS has continued stability in our staff engagement results despite declining engagement and satisfaction in America’s workplaces. More staff shared their voice this year and more staff said progress was made on action planning in their department. See the full report (PDF).‌‌

GALLUP RECOMMENDATIONS

To move the needle, Gallup recommends FAS focus on four areas (read more on slides 40-42):

  1. ‌Focus on expectations
  2. ‌Support people leader’s personal engagement
  3. ‌Continue action planning, especially in disengaged teams
  4. ‌Embrace career well-being as a contributor to a thriving life

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT FY25 ACTION PLANNING

For FY25, UCSF Health action planning goals have already been set. Campus action planning goal recommendations will be presented to the Chancellor’s Cabinet later this week, and I will follow up once a decision has been made. We know teams are anxious to know when action plans are due. In the interim, continue to share results and discuss action planning in your departments.

‌I’ll share updates on FY25 action planning goals and deadlines once approved.

Thank you for helping us shine!
