Announcing Teresa Costantinidis as Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer

Dear Colleagues:

I am extremely pleased to announce that Teresa Costantinidis has accepted the position of Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer at UCSF. Reporting directly to me, Teresa will be responsible for the coordination of the financial and budget portfolio of the University.

In addition, specific units that will now report directly to this new role include:

  • Budget and Resource Management
  • Controller’s Office
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Risk Management and Insurance Services
  • FAS Finance Service Center.

Audit and Advisory Services also will be part of this new organization through a dotted line reporting structure to Teresa and a continued solid line to the Chancellor.

Teresa has a distinguished career of thirty years at the University of California, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences and MBA from UC Davis and UC Berkeley, respectively.  In 2011, she joined UCSF as Associate Vice Chancellor for Budget  & Resource Management.  In the last year, she ably led the overall FAS enterprise as  Interim Senior Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration. Prior to her success at UCSF, she worked across the bay at UC Berkeley within administration and at the Haas School of Business – where I had the great pleasure to work directly with her during my tenure at Berkeley.

In addition to her strong UC credentials, Teresa is actively engaged in working on national- level solutions to challenges facing higher education. She is on the presidential track at the Western Association of College and University Business Officers, and is a forthcoming   board member of NACUBO – the related national organization. She frequently presents on higher education topics at various national conferences and is faculty at the Business Management Institute. Closer to home, Teresa is active in several Bay Area community organizations and is an avid sports fan.

As a senior member of my team, Teresa will actively manage our financial portfolio, addressing both immediate opportunities and modeling longer term financial and risk strategies. Please join me in wishing Teresa all the best in her new role.

Regards,

Paul Jenny

Finance and Administration
