Dear FAS Community,

Please join me in welcoming Cheryl Meliones as the new Assistant Vice Chancellor of the Enterprise Program Management Office (AVC EPMO) at UCSF. Cheryl is a global implementation expert with extensive experience in technology, life sciences, the pharmaceutical industry, and academic medical centers.

The EPMO has recently been renamed to the Enterprise Program Management Office to better reflect its expanded role. It will now oversee large, strategic initiatives across the UCSF enterprise in addition to managing projects that support specific leaders and departments, such as MyTime and Project One. The department collaborates with stakeholders to implement both UCSF-wide and unit-specific operational improvements.

Cheryl’s superpower lies in her ability to understand complex business challenges, articulate innovative strategies, and align diverse teams to transform technology, data, people, and processes into continuous improvement engines.

“I’m excited to collaborate with such an amazing team and visionary leaders to help address the big challenges and questions about the prioritization and value of our project portfolio. Together, we will work across the enterprise to achieve the Chancellor’s vision and advance UCSF’s mission,” says Cheryl.

Cheryl’s impressive background in transformation and global implementation makes her exceptionally well-suited for this role. She is committed to ensuring that teams are integrated to bring unique perspectives that add value and reflect the community’s needs. Her dedication to stakeholder interaction is core to our approach to implementing enterprise initiatives.

This month, Cheryl will be relocating to the Bay Area from the East Coast, where she currently serves as a senior manager and portfolio lead at Accenture. She will begin her new role as AVC EPMO on Tuesday, January 21.

Please join us in giving Cheryl a warm welcome.
