Thank You Follow Up to Chancellor's Message

Dear Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) Community,

Following Chancellor Hawgood’s announcement on Friday of an extension of the return to on-site work date for those who have been working remotely to March 1, 2022, we wanted to share some thoughts with you, our FAS community.

First, we want to express our deep gratitude to those of you who, because of the nature of your frontline work, have been on-site throughout the pandemic. Time and time again, you have risen to the occasion to provide excellent service to the enterprise throughout the extraordinary, ever-changing circumstances of the last 17 months, and we could not be prouder or more appreciative of your efforts.

To those administrative staff who have continued to work remotely through several extensions of the return to on-site work date, we have appreciated your flexibility and all the ways you have found to collaborate and provide exemplary service to our partners throughout the enterprise.

For those of you wondering what the March 1 date means for the FAS Telework and Workspace Program (TWP), we want to share that work on the TWP continues. Though the return to on-site work date has changed, we are not halting or slowing the TWP work that is already underway, and we look forward to sharing with you an update of those efforts in the coming weeks.

Finally, we would like to thank all of you who have already complied with the COVID vaccination policy to either submit your proof of vaccination or apply for an exception or deferral.  Currently, 90% of FAS has met this requirement. In unity with the UCSF community to serve as leaders in advancing health, we will push to reach 100% by September 1, 2021. If you need assistance, please review resources listed in the Campus Message or ask your manager to help you find the information you need.

Whether you work on-site or remotely (or a mix of both), we are proud of how all of you in our FAS community have risen to the challenge of the last year and a half, and we thank you for your flexibility and your commitment to providing the excellent service FAS is known for to our UCSF colleagues throughout the enterprise.

Sincerely,

The Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor
