Value Improvement Final Projects Announced

See the online version of this message.

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to share the completed Value Improvement portfolio with you today. As you know, Value Improvement (VI) is one of our four FAS Strategic Priorities and supports the Chancellor’s priority of financial resilience for UCSF, as described in his 2019 State of the University address.

First, thank you to everyone who submitted their ideas. Out of nearly 70 proposals submitted, 22 have been selected for the Value Improvement portfolio. Thanks also to the VI Planning Group and all who supported it over the past nine months. See the list of final projects selected at the end of this message.
We are investing in these projects to deliver more value to our customers and the growing enterprise. They are projected to create up to $14 million dollars’ worth of value improvements for UCSF over the next three years - including avoided costs, revenue increases, expense reductions, and process efficiencies.

I will share updates with you as we make progress. We look forward to supporting the VI project teams in achieving their goals, creating value for the university, and further building our culture of continuous improvement.

Many thanks,

Paul Jenny
Senior Vice Chancellor
Finance and Administration
