Announcement: Real Estate Name Change

Dear Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) community:

I am pleased to share news with you about updates to the campus unit that manages and creates our physical space. The unit currently known as Real Estate, Planning & Capital Programs (REPCAPS) will join with UCSF Health Design and Construction to become UCSF Real Estate, a department that oversees the development, planning, construction, and management of all space for UCSF.

Recruitment for a leader for UCSF Real Estate is underway and we hope to have a Senior Associate Vice Chancellor in place by late summer. While the name change is effective immediately, the integration of the two units into the new UCSF Real Estate department will begin once the new SAVC is in place and is expected to take time as details are worked out.

This change comes at an exciting time for the campus, as we have significant projects under construction at Mission Bay and are starting a long-term planning process for renewing Parnassus Heights. Uniting the management of the campus’s built environment in one unit will maximize resources and expertise as we support UCSF’s excellence across research, education and patient care.

Sincerely,

Paul Jenny
Senior Vice Chancellor
Finance and Administration
