Where we are now

The FAS Telework and Workspace Program (TWP) is an approach to work in FAS that leverages lessons learned during the pandemic: That our people desire flexibility in where and how they work, and that our pre-pandemic administrative space footprint far exceeds our current needs. The TWP allows us to serve our people by giving them the work flexibility they desire and to serve the enterprise by returning unused administrative space to the Chancellor.

Goals

  1. Create an optimal work experience for our people, with flexible working options.
    1. Allow ongoing telework for work that can be performed remotely.
    2. If telework isn't working, keep options available to come on-site.
    3. Provide on-site workspaces that allow for connection and collaboration for hybrid teams working on-site and remotely.
  2. Reduce FAS administrative space footprint to provide more space for on-site operations and mission-critical needs.
    1. Optimize administrative space use through a shared workspace model.
    2. Outfit a variety of spaces to meet diverse space needs in FAS.

Where are we now

In December 2021, FAS executive leadership endorsed a space strategy known as the “FAS Work Hubs” that consolidates and co-locates FAS staff and provides drop-in individual and team workspaces.

Financial and Administrative Services (FAS) returned 116,000 assigned square feet of space back to the Chancellor in 2022.
