Dear FAS Community:
I am writing to let you know that Chancellor Hawgood has put the Senior Vice Chancellor—Finance and Administration search on a temporary hold. As a result, he has asked me to continue my role as Interim Senior Vice Chancellor while he and his leadership team determine next steps. Though we cannot be certain of the time frame, I imagine the search will resume this spring.
I have enjoyed my term as your Interim Senior Vice Chancellor so far, and I am pleased to continue serving you and UCSF in this temporary role. I am learning a lot about our wonderful institution, and feel supported by each of you within the FAS organization as well as across the university. We have a noble calling in our work to advance health worldwide; I suspect this is one of the reasons everyone is so helpful, because we all see the importance of our individual roles and how critical it is that we continue working together to achieve our mission.
